After a decade of dominance by Bajaj Pulsar, the gen-next bike, Pulsar 200 Naked Sport (NS) has finally been unveiled by Bajaj Auto. The excitement among motorbike enthusiasts has been high since the launch since January, 30th. The new Pulsar 200 NS has created quite a splurge with its new muscular avatar and rugged sharp look. It is expected to be hitting the road by April and priced under Rs 1 lakh giving tough competition to its rivals like Yamaha's R15 and Honda's CBR bikes which are priced between 1-1.5 lakhs. The new Pulsar gives mileage of 58 kmpl which is not exactly what an Indian buyer is impressed by but if speed is what you are looking for then this is the bike to buy with a top speed of 136 kmpl. The new Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is the fastest bike made by an Indian manufacturer and is able to accelerate from 0-60kmph in 3.8sec and 100kmph in 9.8secs. This model is expected to set standards in the motorcycle market, just like the first model did in 2001. The new and improved engine promises to set a benchmark in performance, emission and fuel efficiency. The 2012 model is designed with cutting edge features like liquid cooling, under body exhaust, a six speed gear box and 200cc engine. Pulsar 200NS is equipped with better Digital Twin Spark -Ignition technology and SOHC 4 valve triple spark engine which is controlled by an electronic control unit in the bike. With this bike, Bajaj is holding on to its supremacy in the motorcycle market and is positioning it as the perfect middle class bike with affordable price tag and better value. |
