One of India’s most trusted car makers, Maruti, is coming up with a successor to the much appreciated Swift Dzire after four years of its launch in the sedan market. The New Swift Dzire comes highly recommended. The new compact sedan measures 3.9m falling just under 4m mark for cars. This is a smart way of cutting down on taxes as Government of India spares cars below 4m from paying heavy excise duty. Small cars below the 4m length attract 10% excise duty compared to the 22% levied on cars which exceeds the mentioned length. Thus, this car scores on the prestige factor of a three box sedan while still falling under the small car category. The New Swift Dzire is designed with additional 150 new features and is available both in petrol and diesel identical to its smaller sibling – Maruti Swift. The interior of the new sedan is more desirable. It has a better steering wheel design and more leg space. The additions made in the sedan are similar to the new Swift. The only drawback of the new sedan is the reduced boot space due to its stubbier design. The boot space is now reduced to 316 litres compared to the earlier 440 litres. Designed for fuel efficiency, the sedan is able to give better mileage than ever before with 19.1 kmpl for petrol and 23.4 kmpl for diesel. The all new Swift Dzire stands a rank above the existing model with classier chic look and better performance. The rumor is that it would be priced lower than the existing model which is in the range bracket of Rs 4.94 to Rs 7.30 lakh. The new Swift Dzire is expected to be launched in the first week of February. |
